Why does Therapy work?
Jessica’s approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, an insight-oriented form of therapy that goes beyond managing surface-level symptoms. Instead of focusing only on strategies to cope, psychodynamic therapy aims to uncover and resolve the root causes of emotional pain.
Through this process, Jessica helps bring unconscious patterns and conflicts into your present awareness. By understanding and working through these deeper experiences, you can process and resolve them, leading to meaningful and lasting change.
This approach can reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and stress while also improving self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, and relationships. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy offers the opportunity for long-term growth and relief, rather than short-term fixes.

The number of therapy sessions you may need depends on the type and severity of your concerns, as well as the personal goals you would like to achieve. In your first appointment, Jessica will take a detailed history and work with you to create a treatment plan that feels supportive and realistic. Together, you will regularly review your progress and adjust the plan as needed.
On average, many people attend around 10 or more sessions to experience meaningful and lasting change. Some clients benefit from short-term counselling, while others choose longer-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for deeper exploration and growth.
